Blind cord accidents

Blind cords are lethal and silent killers of babies and young children which lurk in homes of parents and carers of young children.

Looped blind cords and chains can strangle toddlers and young children. There are many ways this sort of accident can happen and the result is usually fatal.

The good news is there’s a lot you can do to help parents prevent this sort of tragedy happening to them. Here we tell you how these accidents happen, offer safety tips to tell parents and provide you with links to free downloadable resources from CAPT and from the Office of Product Safety & Standards to help you run simple sessions with parents or for one to one’s.

More information and guidance can be found on the CAPT website.
