Early years practitioner – URC Pre-School Harpenden
Hours

Monday and Tuesday: 8.45am – 1.15pm

Wednesday and Thursday: 8.45am – 3pm

First Friday of each half term: 9am – 12pm

The URC Pre-School and Nursery provides education and care for children from the age of 2 to 5 years in the centre of Harpenden. The pre-school and nursery were rated Ofsted outstanding in their last inspection and recently won ‘Nursery of the Year’ at the Herts Advertiser School Awards 2019.

We are looking to employ an enthusiastic, caring individual with a qualification in childcare (minimum of cache level 3, NVQ level 3 or equivalent). Past experience in a similar setting is desirable but not essential.

The main duties include but are not limited to:

  • acting as a key person for a number of children and to therefore be responsible for the assessment, recording and monitoring of the needs of these allocated children
  • to work in partnership with our parents are carers to aid learning, development and welfare of the children in our setting
  • to understand and be actively involved in the implementation of the pre-school’s policies, practice and procedures
  • to help plan activities for the children which abide by the standards set out in the early years foundation stage curriculum
  • to report possible evidence of child abuse and other safeguarding issues to one of the designated safeguarding officers on site.

Pre-school manager – Knutsford Community Pre-School

Knutsford Community Pre-school are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, inspiring leader with at least two years proven experience of working in an early year’s care & education setting. Applicants must be SENCO trained and qualified to level 3 early years, with a commitment to obtaining a level 4 qualification.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • ensuring the welfare & safety of the children is paramount and any needs are acted upon
  • drawing up curriculum & daily activity plans as a team; considering early years foundation stage (EYFS) and children’s individual needs, through observation, interaction and assessment
  • maintain a development plan ensuring the setting receives a minimum ‘good’ Ofsted rating
  • ensure all staff are suitably trained, supported & systems are in place for managing all aspects of their employment and keeping CPD records
  • liaise closely with parents/carers, committee, Ofsted and other professionals as necessary.

Pre-school assistant/key worker - Marshalswick
Hours

8am – 1pm or 9 am - 1pm

Offering early years education for 2-5 year olds, in a nurturing, stimulating and inclusive environment.

The successful candidate will be qualified to work in the early year’s workforce. Reliable and ideally a level 3 or above. Consideration will be given to the right candidate with a level 2 qualification in early years with at least one years experience.

Main priorities include:

  • to act as key person to a group of children and use systems of observation and record keeping so that their attainment and progress are effectively and regularly assessed under the Early Years Statutory Framework
  • to ensure personalised play and learning experiences are planned for key children
  • good knowledge of safeguarding
  • build good partnerships with parents
  • flexible and a team player.
