Changes to the universal Healthy Start Vitamins scheme for children’s drops

The new vitamin product came into use in April 2019. This product updated the Vitamin D to the recommended dosage, and it also became licenced from birth.

Previously, the drops were only available from one month. The drops are now available for babies from birth until they reach 4 years old.

The product is provided free of charge through the scheme.

Children should not take the vitamin drops if they are having 500ml or more of formula a day as this is provided through the formula.

You can find an amended electronic poster attached. Hard copied of the poster will be available shortly and sent out to family centres.

Please ensure all staff are aware of this change.
